This March is important in that the Western world remembers Jesus’ resurrection on the last day of March in 2024. High exposure of the Easter holiday throughout the church communities around the world presents many opportunities for personal and church evangelism. Therefore, many segments on Jesus’ resurrection appeared on the air of Chinese broadcasts of World Christian Broadcasting the entire month of March.

Most Chinese would know or at least have heard about Christmas. But, not as many Chinese recognize the Easter holiday. Not to speak about how much do they know about the resurrection of Jesus. Besides Christians, probably very few Chinese know that Jesus’ resurrection has been the center of Christian messages actually in the early days of Christianity. Because this was not well known in China, we want listeners to be informed about what God says about Jesus’ resurrection and his eternal life. We like listeners to learn from us about how early Christians got so excited about Jesus coming back to life after his crucifixion that they carried this message around as they went to spread the gospel.

Chinese has good reason to become excited about Jesus’ resurrection. Because, early Chinese history recorded this famous emperor, Qin Shi Huang, and his obsession for security. He later united the entire China by military means, built the Great Wall, and sent out search teams for the pursuit of medicine that promises eternal life for him. All Chinese know about the story of this emperor of Qin dynasty who lived about two hundred years before Jesus was born. Therefore, eternal life is a familiar concept to the Chinese, however, sadly, an unattainable one as depicted by the emperor’s story. That is why Chinese should get excited about the eternal life promised by Jesus, testified by his own resurrection through the power of the Holy Spirit of God, and witnessed by more than five hundred disciples of Jesus.

We address Jesus’ resurrection and eternal life from various angles of life. Topics and contents include the limitations of man, eternal God, dependence in God, God’s intended blessing of eternal life, love that lasts, fulfilling family relationship, love in the family, home, eternal qualities of human attitudes, life and death, human hopes, Jesus’ model of eternal life, evidences and proofs of the resurrection of Jesus, death, covenant relationship between God and man, sins that cause death, the testimonies of witnesses who saw the resurrected Jesus, eternal life on earth and eternal life in heaven, faith in Jesus, promises of Jesus, the faith in Jesus that conquers the fear of death, spirit and flesh, how to become a Christian, eternal punishment and rewards, salvation in Jesus, the visible and invisible, religions, miracles, etc. Please pray for our listeners that God would use our programs to ignite their thirst for eternal life and for Jesus.

Translation of Andy Baker’s meditations on prayer is now underway. Philip is working on this new project. Shumei just finished editing our Chinese donor’s One Year Prayers. Mrs. Alice Huang is the writer and narrator. Salina is finishing up lesson six of the Discipleship Training material “A Life of Victory in Jesus”. Congratulation to Philip, who just got a car for himself and his family. As a new driver in America, Philip definitely needs a reliable car. Please pray for Philip’s safety as he commutes back and forth from home to work which is about one hour each day on the road.

Volunteers surely strengthen our services indeed. Dr. Jintsu Cheng and Dr. Lijung Lin Cheng recently retired from Tennessee education sectors. They have been long term donors and friends, who are new volunteers to the Chinese Language Service.

We rarely hear from a child requesting program material. Recently, a preteen girl made a request. She is very fond of the audio Bible stories we play in our daily program in 2024 produced by Bible in Living Sound. Please pray for the girl in her growth in the truth of God.

As we conclude the April issue of What’s Going On in 2024, we have to say thank you for your committed prayers for listeners of our ministry. Because of your support, we can continue another year of broadcasts uninterrupted. Please pray that God will bring more listeners to our broadcast and visitors to our website, and that God communicates with each one of them in a meaningful and personal way. May God touch their soul because of the works of the Holy Spirit in which we adamantly believe. Thank you for working together for our King and for those whom we serve together daily. You are in my prayers.
