“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

Darkness seems to envelope the Arab world these days more than ever before. The situation in many countries deteriorates from bad to worse. People put their hopes in political, social or economic changes but they get disillusioned again and again.

What do we do in face of this darkness? We believe that “It’s better to light a candle than curse the darkness.” You cannot drive away the darkness except though shining the light. God has given us the power to proclaim, “Let there be light!”

One of the series in our broadcast is titled “Light of the World.” It does exactly that. It’s short and simple. We start with a verse from the Bible, the real source of light, followed by a focused idea about one area of our lives and how God shine His light through it. At the end, we leave the listener with a question to ponder or a short prayer to say.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)
