Hello to everyone who accompanies us in the articles of Palavra Alegre! We have reached the end of another year. An atypical and totally different year than we are used to experiencing. A year in which we are more inmates, many lost their jobs, others lost loved ones, others still couldn’t have their family reunions as usual. Thanksgiving for many others was not a full day, but a more discreet meal with fewer people.

Social Media

Despite all of this, we have heard of a vaccine that is very close to being approved and soon we will be able to be immunized and return to our lives as before. The truth is, our lives will not be as they were before. We have learned and are learning a lot about our lives. This pandemic made us reflect and think about various aspects of life. One is about how vulnerable our lives are. The word of God warned us about this, but in our rush many of us may not stop to notice. Let’s look at Psalm 144:4:

Man is like a breath;
His days are like a passing shadow.

Another reflection is about the valorization of social relationships, whether family or friendship. In this time when we are avoiding throwing parties and avoiding crowds, we realize the importance of being together, of being in relationship with each other. Then we can understand more clearly the value and purpose of God in constituting the Church. The church is exactly that, the relationship and communion of people in order to get closer to God, their creator, seeking mutual help. The Bible also tells us about the importance of fellowship: These words come from Acts 2:42-47:

42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ ]doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. 44 Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, 45 and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.

46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

In Brazil many of the congregations still have their services only online, this because of the corona virus, and that makes us miss the fellowship a lot. The online services are good and edify us, but the truth is that we miss praising together, we miss communion.

Finally, another thing that we managed to notice in this period was the increased demand for the use of social networks and digital media for communication. In Brazil, several artists from the music world, the theater and other sectors used the media for live concerts and performances. Health professionals used these means to talk about the most diverse subjects. Psychologists and physiotherapists have advanced their care through these resources. As I said earlier, the churches also used this resource, and how good it was, so that people could always have the Word of God in their homes. How good it was!

Certainly, in this pandemic period, people were more accessible and sensitive to the message of Christ. Our radio program has been reaching all over Brazil and the world and we have always received feedbacks on the importance and relevance of the Palavra Alegre program for people. In addition, we have received numerous feedbacks from people who enjoy listening to the radio, the Dexistas.

A listener Italo from São Paulo, Brazil, sent us the following comment:
The quality of your program is excellent and all the material you speak is very, very good. Thank you for your program

Ariel Torres from Argentina, South America, also sent us this comment:

“I had the pleasure of writing to you to say that I was able to tune in to Rádio Palavra Alegre through Madagascar World Voice (MWV). I found the whole program very interesting, especially the short wave segment. I am very happy to hear from you!”

We are happy to see how the program has reached lives, and we believe that many have been transformed by Jesus’ renewing action in their lives. In these two years of the Palavra Alegre program, we can see that.

God bless and thank you all who have contributed in prayer for the continuity of our programming, as well as those who have contributed financially.
A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone !!.
