One of our goals for my being Senior Producer for the Spanish speaking world at WCB this year, was to establish a social media presence for our programing. The plan was simple. Rex Morgan, our former Senior Producer, would transition to focus more of his time in building a social media presence for La Voz Alegre, while I would produce a daily one-hour program that would allow us to syndicate it to many other outlets, in addition to Madagascar World Voice. Well, after months of prayer, researching, being trained by an expert and some trial and error learning, we feel confident we are laying a foundation for a promising future in terms of sharing the Good News of Jesus with the masses through social media, in addition to our other current media outlets.

The following is Rex Morgan’s report on the ongoing development of our social media presence. I am excited to share it with all our readers.

Streaming The Purest Message of Hope

When I think about the concept of streaming, I reflect on the days I would walk two and a half days to get to a village in Papua New Guinea. On my very first trip into the bush a native women took my canteen and headed up the mountain to the “headwater” to get the purest of water. In this context the principle was to not drink from the streams containing impurities, rather to drink from the original source. Our goal is to deliver “Living Water”, Jesus’ pure message via digital streams where the world live There, people will be surprised by “Unforgettable Conversations with Jesus” a series of 60 radio messages. The “Hope in Conflict” series and many more.

We live in a digital age where we see all kinds of content flowing through social media, some good and others bad. It is our goal to deliver the good and pure content through social media seeking to save the lost and to enable them to find Jesus. Billions are on social media every day.

Our radio hour can be found streaming daily on our La Voz Alegre Facebook page and through our App. We will also be sharing several series like the ones mentioned above on a regular schedule via our YouTube channel and our Facebook page. Please go to these links and help us launch more effectively by liking and sharing with anyone you know who speaks Spanish. Yes, even if you don’t speak Spanish. Gracias!

“Multi-streaming is the process of streaming, a live video to multiple destinations or platforms simultaneously.” With multi-streaming, you only have to create one stream and choose which destinations to stream to — Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, LinkedIn, Twitter, a website, and so on” (Switcherstudio.com, by Jared Applegate).
In preparation for multi-streaming, we must convert our mp3 audio messages found in our App, into mp4 video files for live daily multi-streaming.
While social media will expand our audience, more importantly it will help us make personal contact with listeners that don’t tune in to our daily radio broadcasts:
Some quick facts about social media:
• Social media is a computer-based technology that facilitates the sharing of ideas, thoughts, and information through the building of virtual networks and communities.
• There are more than 4.5 billion social media users around the world.
• The largest social media networks include Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok.
• Social media typically features user-generated content and personalized profiles.
• By 2023, the number of social media users in the United States is forecast to increase to approximately 257 million.

We can’t let the opportunity to share Jesus with so many individuals slip by. Personally, I have had to put aside some of my feelings about how those running social media behave and utilize the tools God have put before me. I pray that you can do the same and engage with individuals seeking hope and truth through Jesus.
