August is time for students coming back to school in America, but for China, it is September. However, Chinese students coming to study on U.S. campuses they are arriving in August. In Middle Tennessee, for example, there are local churches welcoming students from China and serving them in various ways, such as providing English class, supplying used furniture and kitchenware, taking students to local banks and grocery shopping, etc. The Middle Tennessee Chinese Church of Christ, a longtime friend of WCB, held a welcoming supper for Chinese students in August.

Several staff members of WCB contributed donated items from members of various local churches, which were quickly adopted by students in appreciation. God’s love was the highlight of the presentation after supper, besides information about how to settle down in Middle Tennessee, steps to a successful student lives, and what to experience at church. About forty Chinese students attended the welcoming event, among them a few have taken advantage of further services of the church. The Middle Tennessee Chinese Church of Christ will continue to befriend with these students and some of them have already learned about the Chinese website of World Christian Broadcasting through which they may listen to our daily radio program.

The new devotional series on the Book of Matthew is now completed. Mr. Xingshi Gao produces the series. His devotional guide on the Book of John and Mark were completed earlier this year. We are posting his comments and reflections on the Book of Mark right now. Gao has sent us the complete audio files on Matthew in August. The recording is in the process of being edited. Listeners and website visitors will get to hear them once the editing process is over. We are grateful for Mr. Gao’s love for the word of God and listeners.

Listener’s correspondence is precious encouragement to us. Some take heart and time to write to us. One August correspondence expresses appreciation to us for what we do very thoughtfully. Here is the note. “Hi, How do you do? I became a Christian recently. Few days ago I found your website. For material presented on your website and for what you have accomplished, I admire you and am grateful. The things you do is very great… There is a message about free Bible available for request on your website. I need a copy of the Bible. Please tell me how could I get a copy. I appreciate what you do. Please continue. We will be with you in spirit. May God be with you.

Shumei will be back in ten days. Please continue remembering her family and Salina’s family with their recent loss of their loved one. We thank God for his faithful presence and help to this ministry. I want to express my appreciation for you who take time reading this edition of What’s Going On with the Chinese language service. You are a dear friend. Your support is great encouragement to us and our production. Thank you for praying for us always. We need your daily prayers for the guidance of the Holy Spirit as we produce programs and for God’s daily communication with each listener and website visitor. May God bless you.
