Church around the world is vital to the ministry at World Christian Broadcasting, not only by sending their support, but also by telling their contacts about our programs and stories. Pasir Panjang Church of Christ in Singapore is one fine example. For more than thirty years Pasir Panjang has been faithfully sending their support every year, a total of close to half million dollars of their church contribution for World Christian Broadcasting alone, revealing how serious they are about Jesus’ Great Commission and how much they care about souls that are lost. About a dozen of church members regularly and actively participate in visiting the shut-ins and the sick so that these people could connect themselves with the church. Singapore and Malaysia are neighbors, Pasir Panjang and several Churches of Christ in Malaysia have had joint activities together such as the Bible Camp, giving opportunities for friendship and exchange of information. Consequently, Singapore and Malaysia are the leading countries in Asia in terms of number of people listening to our live streaming Chinese Bible reading daily. We are so grateful to work with the Pasir Panjang congregation in serving the Lord’s will together.

Salina has been taking courses such as disciple training and Christian family care, as we prepare for new programs in 2023. We look for material that will benefit seekers and young Christians. Seekers are interested in knowing why they need to become Christians. Discipleship training enables seekers and young Christians to know what Christian life is all about and how they will benefit by becoming disciples of Christ. Likewise, Christian family material enables seekers to have a picture of what their homes are like when they put their trust in Jesus. We, like the local church leaders, find our program material helpful, and they will encourage members to visit our website. Salina has found a series of programs developed by Dr. Zhenyou Guo helpful. We have obtained Dr. Guo’s consent to use and to edit his material for our radio program in 2023. Please pray for the Lord’s blessing as we embark on these projects, that it will be helpful to seekers and young Christians.

Daily program of the Chinese Language Service in December presents one focus of Christ Jesus every day. For example, program on December 12 is composed by one theme found on the texts from Luke 17:24-37, God’s word is worthy of our attention. Even when people can’t fully comprehend and foresee, God’s word will happen in Lord’s time. This was the case with the great flood in Noah’s time, and Jesus used it as he illumined about his second coming. Verses 35 and 36 hint at the earth’s self-spinning which causes the phenomenon of day and night coexist at any given time on earth. Eighteen hundred years after Jesus dropped that hint Foucault proved the earth is spinning with his experiment. December 12th includes segments on the contribution of the French scientist Leon Foucault, interviews of two Chinese Christian scientists at Vanderbilt talking about their beliefs in the trustworthiness of the Bible, readings and commenting on Luke chapter 17.

China is making significant achievements economically and scientifically. One of the driving forces behind China’s economy is the migrant workers. There are nearly three hundred million migrant workers, between the age of teens and forty’s, concentrated in Eastern China where many jobs are provided by manufacturing and construction businesses. They work long hours and send money to help improve lives of their loved ones back home. These migrant workers are lonely and alienated. Providing them with radio programs helpful, personal, and godly is our priority. Please join us to pray for them and their families.

Shumei will make a trip back to Taiwan in December, visiting her parents, siblings, and their families. Shumei’s Dad has had some health-related issues. Thankfully he is getting better. Shumei likes to encourage her Dad and Mom and support her brother as he and his family carry the main responsibility of caring for their elderly parents. Shumei has been serving the Chinese language programming in pivotal ways, bringing many program materials from her circle of church friend and enabling many archive materials to enrich the home page of our Chinese website. Please pray that Shumei will have a safe and successful trip to Taiwan.

Edward just made a short trip in November to Taipei accompanied by his Dad to take care of business relating to his mother’s passing. One observation he made while he was in Taipei was the active services Taipei Churches conduct amidst domestic and international unrest. Tian Mu Church of Christ is serving retirees residing in the Tian Mu district of the Taipei city. The local church opens their door six days every week and conducts different activities, educational, spiritual, physical, and relational. There are a dozen or two of elderly people participating in various programs daily. They have lunch together and spend the entire day at church. Consequently, a number of neighbors have obeyed the gospel. It is encouraging to find out that a few people have been tuning in to our radio program and Bible reading with their cell phones daily.
